Ethernet a más de 100
Mts con switches Dahua y Cisco

Escenario
Cayó en mis manos un switch Dahua industrial, este laboratorio verifica la conectividad a 212 Mts
excediendo por mucho los 100 metros que recomiendan las normas para ethernet.
Según las especificaciones del switch industrial Dahua PFS 4410 y la norma 802.3i, es posible.
Vamos y vemos…
1.- Pruebas de troughput:

Verificamos tasa de errores CRC en el Rx del puerto, que es lo que generalmente se registra en cables fuera de norma.

2.- Conexión de una cámara PoE
a ~212 mts:
Conectamos una cámara Hikvision PoE y verificamos.
Efectivamente, verficamos que la cámara funciona por PoE a (mucho) mas de 100 Mts.
3.- Prueba de uplink extra
largo contra un switch industrial Cisco:
Se verficia si la conexión extra larga es posible entre dos switches a 10 Mbps, y de ser así cargala con tráfico.

4.- Conectamos la cámara PoE en el cable de 212 mts al
switch Cisco:
Con esta prueba determinamos si también en posible en el switch Cisco o es una funcionalidad de Dahua.
Por default la cámara debería conectar a 100 Mbps mediante el auto negotiation.

Accedemos con el software HiLookVision y notamos que en todas las resoluciones hay un alto nivel de lag.

Accedemos con el software HiLookVision y probamos resoluciones, ausencia de lag, visión nocturna, etc…

5.- Resumen:
Verificamos que a 10 Mbps es posible conectar dispositivos y dispositivos alimentados por PoE sin que sea exluyente
de la marca Dahua, esta función de “hasta 250 metros” del punto 1.1 es puramente para bajar la velocidad a 10 Mbps
sin tener conocimientos técnicos de la norma.
Verificamos que a 100 Mbps es posible conectar dispositivos y dispositivos alimentados por PoE sin que sea exluyente
de la marca Dahua, pero con altas tasas de errores y lag en el caso de las cámaras.
Estas pruebas se realizan en un ambiente de testing libres de ruidos e interferencias, en otro contexto debería utilizarse
cable FTP con la correspondiente puesta a tierra normalizada.
6.- Acerca de la conexión a 10
Mbps:
802.3i 1990 10BASE-T 10 Mbit/s sobre par trenzado no blindado (UTP). Longitud máxima del segmento 150 metros.
